The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) is an Indian paramilitary force conceived on October 24, 1962 for security along the India’s border with the Tibet Autonomous Region of China, border covering 2115 kilometers. The ITBP is trained in mountaineering, disaster management, and nuclear, biological and chemical disasters. Panjab University is one of the oldest universities  in India. The university campus is residential, spread over an area of 550 acres (2.2 km2) in sectors 14 and 25 of the city of Chandigarh. Indian Institute of Technology Mandi (Devanāgarī: भारतीय प्रौद्योगिकी संस्थान मंडी) popularly known as IIT Mandi is an autonomous university located in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh. It is the youngest Indian Institute of Technology established by the MHRD, Government of India in 2009.It is the only IIT nestled in the lowermost climatic zone of the serene Himalayas in Himachal Pradesh. Presently, IIT Mandi functions from transit campus at Mandi town in Himachal Pradesh. Permanent campus (about 12 km from historic town of Mandi) is under construction along Uhl River (a tributary of River Beas) at Kamand, Mandi. Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) - The Himachal Pradesh University was founded on July 22, 1970. It is located at Summer Hill which is at a distance of 5 kms from the main town, Shimla. Himachal Pradesh University is the only multi-faculty and affiliating University in the state.
