Indian Institute Of Science Education and Research, Thiruvananthapuram (IISER-TVM) is dedicated to scientific research and science education of international standards. Established in 2008 by the Government of India, through the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), based on the recommendation of Scientific Advisory Council to the Prime Minister, IISER-TVM is an autonomous institution awarding five year integrated MS degree in addition to Ph.D degrees in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and inter-disciplinary areas. The Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar (Devanāgarī: भारतीय प्रौद्योगिकी संस्थान भुवनेश्वर) is the third and one of the largest of six new Indian Institutes of Technology established by the MHRD, Government of India in 2008. Indian  Institutes of Technology (IITs) offer Science based engineering education at Undergraduate level (B.Tech), Postgraduate level (M.Tech), Doctoral level (Ph.D) and Research Programmes. IITs also offer five year integrated Masters and Doctoral level programmes in various Science disciplines. Masters and Doctoral level programmes in Humanities, Social Science and Management are also offered by IITs. IITs are also engaged in national and internationally funded sponsored research and Industrial Consultancy. The Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISER), and the related National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) are a group of premier institutes being created by the Government of India to promote education and research in the sciences. Five IISER’s have been currently planned across the country in the following locations — Kolkata in West Bengal, Pune  in Maharashtra, Mohali in Punjab, Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh and Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala. The financial outlay for each IISER is around Rs  500 crore  for the first five years. The NISER is being set up in Bhubaneswar  for a slightly higher outlay of 800 crores. [more details]
